Wukari is a Local Government Area in Taraba State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Wukari on the A4 highway. The Donga River flows through the area and the Benue River forms a boundary with Nasarawa State to the northwest. It has an area of 4,308 km2 and a population of 241,546 at the 2006 census The town is the base of the Wukari Federation, a traditional state. It is the home to Jukun people (West Africa)|Jukun people. The local languages are Jukun (Wapan, Jibu, Nyifon etc)
His Majesty Manu Ishaku Ada Ali is the Aku-Uka of Wukari in the Kwararafa Kingdom of Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. He Born on 24th March 1946, the new Aku holds Higher National Diploma (HND) in Forestry from the premier Federal College of Forestry Jos, Plateau State. He joined the civil service in 1965 and retired in the year 2000 as Chief Forestry Superintendent after 35 years of meritorious service
